Topic: Mental Status Exam, Aggressiveness, Suicidiality & Sexual Abuse Reporting

Overview and Objective:

Students will be able to describe the mental status exam. They will be able to identify the risk factors and warning signs of self-inflicted harm, suicide and assess suicide risk. Students will be able to identify the risk of aggressiveness in being a danger to others. They will be able to identify trauma and abuse and know how to report abuse.

Assignments:

Research how to identify the risk of aggressiveness and the duty to warn others.
Research how to identify trauma and abuse and know how to report abuse.
Assessment:

Write a 2 to 4-page paper in which you:
1. List the key factors of assessing suicide risk.
2. List the procedure for reporting abuse and when you are legally required to do so.
3. Do the same with the duty to warn.

Use the APA style, which at a minimum includes the title page, running head, headings if appropriate, and a “References” list if you cite any references in your paper. You do not need an abstract. The title page and reference list do not count in page total.
