DIFFERENT THEORIES ON THE ORIGIN OF THE STATE
There are different perspectives and theories of the state and this provides important insights that enable politicians to compact with political affairs and the interaction of the public in any community.
The following theories explain the origin of the state;
- The divine theory
This theory is based on the fact that the state and its rulers have been appointed by god and they give account to Him. The divine theory of state was therefore majorly applied in the middle –ages whereby the leaders of those times believed that they were God’s off springs.
- The Marxist state theory
Proponents of this theory are great revolutionists, political thinkers and great philosophers. In this theory argues that the state emerged on situations of great conflicts and that the state was founded on the conditions of the economy. - The social contract theory
This theory implies that at some time in the history of man, they lived without any state. In other words men lived without any political or even civil controls and only survived on dependency on nature.
- The natural theory of state

Finally, there is the force state theory that implies that the state was formed as a result of oppression and defeat.
