What were the dominant social groups who led each period and what groups helped them in controlling and ruling. What are the most important successes of each be specific? What led to the downfall of each period?

What mistakes brought him down? How did Napoleon once again rise and fall during 1814-15? What was his ultimate impact and fate?


Theme #4 Revolution and Reaction
: What was the Congress of Vienna and the Congress system? How did it affect Europe and beyond, through the 1830s and beyond into 1848? What was the immediate reaction to the Revolutions in Europe? What was the Congress of Vienna? Who attended? What were the dominant powers and who led the congress? What were the key issues? Did the powers agree completely or was there a chance of conflict between them? What actions did the Congress powers take to suppress change after the Congress of Vienna 1815 up to and through the revolts of 1830 and then 1848
? What type of revolutions do we see, including the French Revolution of 1830 and 1848? Why did they fail or succeed? How does this relate to the Congress of Vienna? What does it teach us?
