Week 2:Researching and Outlining
By now you should have selected your approach to the course project writing assignment. For Week 2, you will organize your thoughts, identify and develop your main ideas, draft an introduction, and create an outline for your essay.
For Week 2, submit:
An Introductory Paragraph (with the thesis statement underlined)
An outline of your three to four main ideas, including 2-3 supportive details, facts, statistics, quotations, or anecdotes to support each one.
Any questions or concerns that you have regarding your topic, the details you need, research, etc.
This week, you will begin researching your topic and outlining main ideas.
The following outline (and attachment) shows a basic format for most academic papers. No matter what length the paper needs to be, it should still follow the format of having an introduction, body, and conclusion. Read over what typically goes in each section of the paper.
Use the handout (see attachment) to outline your topic selected in Week 1.
