Paper details
two chapters to be written, one on Kashmir issue another on Naxal issue… Each chapter should analyse the issue in emic and etic perspective. The novels are selected in such manner. The chapter on Kashmir issue should include the concept on Baited youth and the chapter on Naxalism should include the concept of Distorted Resistance.

The analysis should also include the concept of Mythography and Typology of Terrorism as mentioned in Terrorism and the Novel, 1970–2001 by Robert Appelbaum and Alexis Paknadel at par to the select works and issues.

analysis on two novels to be included in the chapters. Malik Sajad’s Munnu: A Boy from Kashmir (emic) and Paro Anand’s No Guns at My Son’s Funeral (etic) are novels based on Kashmir. Bani Basu’s The Ememy Within (emic) and Nilima Sinha’s Red Blooms in the Forest (etic) are novels based on the Naxalite movement.

research is on Young adult literature and concentrate on the theme of Terrorism in the Indian young adult writings… thought of having an emic/etic approach therefore selected the novels accordingly, eg. Malik Sajad the author of Munnu: A Boy from Kashmir is an Kashmiri therefore he is an emic whereas Paro Anand the author of No Guns at my son’s Funeral is not a Kashmiri therefore she is an etic. Similar logic is used in the selection of the novels for the Naxal issue. Our university is insisting on theoretical therefore thought of taking the concept of Mythography and typology mentioned in Terrorism and the Novel, 1970–2001 by Robert Appelbaum and Alexis Paknadel as a framework for my dissertation.
